Your quote from Brazelton causes an interesting debate for many people. Spanking is such a controversial issue and I personally don't believe in it and I like the questions he poses to those who may.. :-)
...I was spanked as a child, and if the situation warrents a spank, I will probably spank my own children. I think it is a very controversial issue too, and I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to it. I think it may be considered a cultural difference. Don't get me wrong, there is a line between discipline and abuse, as fine of a line it may be, but I am not opposed to the discipline-side WITHIN the boundaries...
